Early episodes of MARRIED TO THE MOVEMENT go well, showcasing a Las Vegas most never see. Cam’el’s first community action involves teams arriving at 'Bucks Coffee Cafes before sunrise -- when the in-visible emerge from behind dumpsters, storefronts and less conspicuous bedding.
:
Cam’el had gone through a period of homelessness, living in his car. The backseat a foxhole. As he moved nightly between communities, the only constant was speaking to his father at first light. It provided an anchor to Cam'el's sanity, eventually changing his perspective. Leading to his simultaneously driving rideshare. But it wasn't easy.
:
Bathrooms at eateries used keypad door locks for access, removed mirrors that helped Cam'el wash his face. Against this, 'Bucks Cafe was a sanctum, clean and sophisticated, sovereign -- the perfect place for him to step back into his body.
:
Unfortunately, things changed after the loitering arrests. Brew sippers admitted discomfort when the un-washed made their presence felt. Some switched to ordering online to avoid the social interaction, a precursor to driverless futures, when encounters with cash and servers disappear.
:
Cam'el watched a homeless man escorted from 'Bucks by two persistent, friendly police. His crime, studying both sides of his 100 pennies too long. Cam'el gave the brother a fist bump going out the door.
