When they crossed paths again, John Waters noticed more young people surrounding Cam’el. He was forming a campaign circle. They were excited, posting stories, providing witness to injustices that most in the City overlooked. John recalled his apparition on the street after the rally. Could Cam'el really be the People’s Mayor?

A new time was being ushered in, riotous independent voices, challenging the boundaries of news. A colleague, an old-timer at the paper sat across from John bemoaning the slow decrease in circulation among those who appreciated the feel of newsprint. The digital, somehow, was embedded under the skin.

“They are sure to increase and we will decrease,” John said. He was of course thinking of Cam’el, who used his posts to recruit driver messengers – encouraging them to learn the city’s topology, its heart, by ferrying residents to hospitals, supermarkets, laundry mats, family court, senior homes and hockey games.
